A Hot Day at the Zoo...Day 3

Today we went to the St. Louis Zoo, which is a very nice zoo and it is FREE! The weather was very HOT (a wet hot) and it also rained on us for a little while, and then turned HOT and muggy again. We were there for about 3 hours and then the kids (okay so was I) were very tired and ready to leave.

How much fun did Koen have?

Let's meet Yogi...Day Two...Part 2

After riding the Yogi train, Yogi comes out to meet the kids, my child was not impressed...

Day at the pool...Day 2

After all the fun we had on day one, we decided to kick back and relax. It was really hot here today, 82 feels like 91, so we went to the pool. We had a great time! The kids, also rode the Yogi Bear train and finally met Yogi Bear. We ended our fun with a trip to the park, to burn off any outstanding energy. When we got back to our cottage and it started to rain, however, it came and went in a few minutes. We finally got to have smores and now the kids are showered and are sleeping. It is finally adult time, yeah! I think I will have some beverages and go to bed...Tomorrow we are planning on the zoo...

Are we there yet? Day 1

Today is the day we left for our family vacation. Our ideal leave time was 7:00 am, however, my sister called and said that Braydon had some eye infection and Bryan had ear infection, and they were going to go to the doctor's office at 10:00 am. Justin and I decided we would go ahead of them and do a little shopping at the outlet malls. We actually hit the road for St. Louis around 1:00 (remember we wanted to leave at 7:00). Koen finally fell asleep around 2:00, however, woke in a very bad mood, which lasted for a couple of hours. We arrived in Eureka, MO around 6:00 pm and my sister's family arrived shortly after. We were all very tired and stressed, however, we still needed to go eat and grocery shopping. We decided on Steak and Shake, bad choice (we seemed to making a lot of those today). The service was horrible and it took about an hour and half for our food. They, apparently, were short handed and finally decided to close the drive through. We ate for free. We then took our very tired families to Wal-Mart for some shopping fun (it was around 9:00). Hopefully tomorrow will be more fun...

Pictures of our Family

It has been 2 years since our last family picture, so we thought is was time. We chose Portrait innovations and had a very good experience (I recommend it!). They were so good with Koen and he had a really good time. The best part is they give you a CD that has all the pictures they took, so your able to print and share.

It's seems fall has come, the days are getting colder and the nights shorter. Although fall is my favorite season, I really do miss the long days of outside play. Koen is already getting tired of the indoors. Lucky we have had some really nice days in the last week.

Justin is outside with Koen (sanding the deck) so I better go help...That's all for now.

My New Water Slide...

Koen and Daddy discovered what fun a slide and a pool can be...They were outside for about an hour on the 4th sliding into Koen's pool. I hope everyone had a great 4th.(click on the pictures to see video)

We also took Koen to splash park (Keegan and Brenna joined us). It was a chilly morning so the water was really cold. He started to have fun right before we left (that is the way it always goes, right?) We then ended the day at Jody's for a cook out, and yes more water fun (I think Koen was in water all day long).

It's Raining!!!

As Koen and I pulled out of the garage, it began to rain! Koen said, "Mommy what's that?" I said, "Koen it is raining." We then sang the Wiper Wiper Blades song all the way to day-care (great song from the Bob and Tom show). We have not seen rain in what seems like a very long time. I tried to turn on the windshield wipers, only to find my turn signal (apparently I don't have to use the wipers very often). Every night we have been watering all the plants and the grass, only to get yellow hay as a result. Some of our neighbors have the nice automatic sprinklers and a very green lawn, however they have to mow and we don't. Normally rain makes everyone feel tired, however, today that is all everyone is talking about at work. The rain has added much joy to all of us, that the very hot sun has drained from us over the last few weeks. Although the hot sun makes a summer day fun, it just goes to show we also need a little rain...
